It’s become a common sight to find latest smartphone products making it way to the Indian market, without waiting for a long time. The likes of Sony, Samsung and HTC among others have reiterated their focus on India as a critical market, thereby even designing their respective products according to the market. With the Indian festive season, just around the corner, HTC has taken its first move by announcing the latest products in its Desire portfolio - Desire 820, Desire 820q and Desire 816G in the market.
The phones were first sighted at the IFA Berlin earlier this year and within a space of 2 weeks, HTC has managed to bring it out for the Indian audience. Desire 820 is the first 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core powered device to be ousted this year. At 5.5 inch it’s more of a phablet than smartphone but we would have liked a full-HD resolution , instead of the HD quality available on the phablet. It packs the popular HTC Boomsound speakers inside which has got it’s fair share critics. Under the hood, you’ll find a 1.4 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset from Qualcomm, paired with 2 GB RAM and offering 16 GB internal storage.
Empowering the shutterbugs, Desire 820 is fitted with a 13 MP rear snapper with supposed low-light capability but what stands out the most, is an 8 MP front shooter to entice all the selfie fans out there. Lot more features to play around with, making the best use of the cameras in tow. The phone’s running on the latest HTC Sense 6 over Android 4.4 KitKat version. It’s a dual-SIM phablet but you’ll be able to use both the slots to get 3G/4G connectivity and loaded with a 2600 mAh battery. HTC Desire 820 will be available in the country November onwards, pricing will be announced on a later date.
In addition to Desire 820, HTC has also unveiled the Desire 820q and Desire 816G, the supposed successor Desire 816 which has been selling in the market for Rs 23,990 but the former will be available from early October, priced at Rs 18,990.
