The night is dark and full of terror, but you, along with most of the world's population, probably already knew that.

HBO's mega-hit "Game of Thrones" will debut its eighth and final season on April 14, 2019, and the hype is most certainly real. While this season only has six episodes, compared to the 10 episodes aired during six of the seven previous seasons, the show's creators have announced that each episode will be around 90 minutes long. This essentially means that we have an entire "Game of Thrones" movie to watch six straight Sundays in a row starting April 14!

Make sure that you are all caught up with each characters' storyline by re-watching - or watching for the first time - every episode before the eighth season premiere. "Game of Thrones" has a grand total of 67 episodes, so if you start streaming one episode per day on Wednesday, February 6, you will have watched the seventh season finale on April 13 - right before the new season premieres.

While this may seem more daunting than a trial by combat against The Mountain, it will be totally worth it once April 14 comes around and you are more familiar with Westerosi lore than Old Nan and Maester Luwin combined.

Winter is coming, and if you have never seen the show, this one-episode-per-day prescription will get you ready to participate in the eighth season alongside the rest of the world, which definitely adds to the overall viewing experience.

"Game of Thrones" airs on HBO, so even if you have cable, you need to be a subscriber to tune in. There are a few different ways you can watch HBO programming. If you have cable, you can add HBO to your existing package and watch each episode On Demand. Additionally, if you have added it to your cable package, you can stream HBO to most devices using the HBO Go website and application. These prices may vary depending on your cable subscriber.

If you have already cut the cord but still want to stream premium television, you can sign up for an HBO Now account with a free seven day trial. It costs $14.99 per month after that week is over, but with an HBO Now account, you can stream the channel's content on the web or on most other devices with the app.

Additionally, you can add an HBO package to your existing Hulu account for $14.99 a month to access "Game of Thrones" and all the other content produced by HBO, including hit shows, original movies, stand-up comedy, documentaries, and more.

A Lannister always pays his debts, but HBO allows you to cancel the subscription at any time, so if you want to pay for an HBO Now subscription only to watch "Game of Thrones," you can get rid of it after the eighth season ends.
