Family Sharing on an iPhone will let you share songs, apps, and more with your friends and family.

  • To set up Family Sharing on your iPhone, you'll need to open your Apple ID menu, and from there, invite your family to join a plan.
  • An iPhone Family Sharing plan allows up to six members of your family (or friends), yourself included, to share apps, songs, videos, calendars, and more.
  • Parents can set their family plan so they have to approve any download their children make, and can also set restrictions on screen time.
  • Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories.

With an iPhone Family Sharing plan in place, up to six people can share the same apps, songs, videos, and other media on their Apple devices. As soon as content has finished downloading on one device, it'll become available on every device.

The Family Sharing group can also share calendars, iCloud storage, and can help locate a family member's missing phone should one ever get lost.

Kids will enjoy expanded access to the games, videos, and other media found on all the phones in the group. Parents will appreciate how iPhone Family Sharing allows them to monitor and place limits on screen time, and can be set to require that all app downloads be approved. The adults will also appreciate that some downloads can be hidden and kept private.

Setting up iPhone Family Sharing only takes a few minutes, so don't put off the process.
