How to mute a video on your iPhone using Apple's free iMovie app

If you want to remove the sound from a video you're editing on your iPhone, you can do that using Apple's iMovie app, which is a free video editor that greatly expands what you can do with your videos, including rotating scenes and combining clips into a longer movie.
If you haven't already installed iMovie, do that first, and then it's a simple process to mute a video.

How to mute a video on an iPhone using iMovie
1. Start the iMovie app and if you see the Welcome screen, tap "Continue."
2. On the Projects page, tap the plus sign to start a new movie.
3. On the New Projects pop-up, tap "Movie."

4. Choose a video that you want to include in your new project. You can tap "Media" at the top of the screen to see a list of all your folders, and tap "Video" to make it easier to find your video.
5. When you find the video you want, tap it. In the pop-up, tap the checkbox. This adds the video to your project. Then tap "Create Movie" at the bottom of the screen.

6. On the video editing page, tap the video clip in the timeline at the bottom of the screen.
7. Tap the audio button. You should see it change to a mute symbol, and the audio slider should move all the way to the left.

8. When you're done editing the video, tap "Done" at the upper left corner of the screen.
9. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen and choose how you want to save the completed video.
