How to Spot Manipulative Colleagues in your office

There are manipulative colleagues in every workplace, the ones you need to watch out for. Cunningly smart and selfish, they take advantage right under your nose without a trace.
If you do not want to end up with an unpleasant surprise, be aware of the evil around you by keeping an eye out on some of the behavioral signs that can signal negative manipulation. It’s a lot easier to avoid falling into their trap if you’re aware of these warning signs, here are 6 of them:
- A coworker reminds you about that time they bailed you out big time in the past, then use that as leverage every time he or she needs something. *Ringing Alarm Bells*
- You are not being put on key emails, invited to meetings or even off the clock get-togethers where important decisions are being made. If a colleague is deliberately leaving you out for important things, he’s clearly threatened by you!
- They focus on what they do, what they have accomplished, where they are going, what they need but do not express genuine interest in what you need. It's all about me, me, me!
- They ask you for information but do not share information. They may ask you for your perception or point of view, yet they are not honest with theirs. They tell you what they think you want to hear but do not reveal what’s in their mind. It’s a sign - they are using you to their advantage!
- Most of the time, our gut feeling is right. Your internal guidance system is telling you about the negative vibe. Trust it and stay away!
