How to Give yourself a Pep-Talk without Looking like a Complete Idiot

Nothing helps more than a pep talk from someone you love and respect when you are feeling low.
Just one coffee outing with a friend who understands and knows you is enough to pull yourself out of the dark zone. It changes your attitude, boosts your morale, spikes your energy, and spurs you to think positive.
But the problem dons when there is no one around to listen to you. Falling back on yourself at a time when you are in desperate need for support can leave you in shambles. However, rarely do we realize that there is nothing to be afraid of and we can take control of our emotions and determine our own attitudes.
So, next time you find yourself feeling discouraged, go ahead and give yourself a pep-talk. Just make sure you do all of the following in a place where you are all alone. You don't wanted to be taken as an idiot talking to himself. Yes, now go ahead:
- Stand in front of the mirror and speak out loud to yourself. Pour your heart out to yourself (you can even do this in your car)
- Talk to yourself like you are talking to a friend in problem and motivating him/her. Even better would be to use “you are” instead of “I am.”
- Love yourself come what may. Remind yourself that you are a one-of-a-kind miracle of nature with infinite worth
- Review how it felt when you were successful and happy. Remember times when you were proud to be you. Rechannelise that energy back.
- Tell yourself that what you have done before, you can do again. Your future is bright and more of these successful times are on the horizon.
- Dispel your fears and think about all of the good things in your life.
- Tell yourself that you can do it. You have everything you need. You are motivated and excited to take action. Repeat these affirmations with enthusiasm and conviction.
