WhatsApp is India’s most popular messaging service clocking in 300 million users per month within the country. Despite the Facebook-owned mobile app’s many clashes with fake news and misinformation, it’s usage continues to increase by the day as more and more users in India come online.

WhatsApp videos, unlike Facebook and Twitter, can be downloaded from within the app itself. But if you’ve disabled automatic downloads on your phone, here’s how you can download videos from the Facebook-owned messaging service:

1. First off, open WhatsApp on your phone and go to settings.

2. Select ‘Data and storage usage’ to check if the media download settings are as per your requirements. You can select whether or not WhatsApp should download videos when using mobile data, when connected to the Wi-Fi and while you’re on roaming.

3. For each of the options, you can either choose to download photos, audio, videos, documents or any combination of the following.

4. If you’re on a limited data plan or are going to be travelling, it’s recommended that you only download videos when you’re connected to the Wi-Fi.

5. If you want to download a video when you’re using mobile data, but the downloads aren’t automatic — all you have to do is go into the chat and click on the download button that’s placed at the center of a sent video.

7. Any video that you download from WhatsApp can be found in your phone’s File Manager. By default, the videos should be in the WhatsÁpp folder.
