Expanded as Media Access Control Address, MAC address consists of a sequence of values written in pairs. All these pairs are separated by some characters, hyphens or colons. Every device linked to the home network has a unique MAC address. If your computer has many network adapters like a wireless adapter and an Ethernet adapter, each of the adapters will have its own MAC address. Knowing the MAC address will enable you to block or allow service to a given device. Here is how you can find out the MAC address.

Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista

Click on the Windows Key. Type cmd in the search box and then press Enter. A command Window will appear.

Type ipconfig /all and then press Enter.

For each of the adapters, you will see a physical address displayed. This physical address is the MAC address of your device.

For every device, the Settings menu will differ. For the majority of the cases on Android, you can use the following method to locate your MAC address.

Go to Settings > About Device > Status.

You will see a WiFi Address or WiFi MAC Address displayed on the screen. This is the MAC address of your Android device. If this method does not work in your device, you can follow the instructions given in the user manual.
