Here is a simple way to check the owner of a bike, car or other vehicle. You can find out who is the owner of any vehicle in India with just the registration details of the vehicle. Use the following simple steps to find out the owner details of a vehicle.

  • Visit the official website of the RTO (Regional Transport Office) here.
  • Enter the registration number of the vehicle for which you wish to check the ownership details.
  • You will have to enter the verification code given on the page.
  • Then click on “Check Status”
The page that you land on now will give you the complete details about the vehicle ownership for the registration number you entered including the owner’s name, data of registration, city of registration, vehicle model and other details pertaining to the ownership of the given registration number. In fact, you will be surprised to see the minute details like the engine number and chassis number of the vehicle.

Sometimes, the registration details of some old registration are not available with this method.
