Despite heavy snow, McCoy had 217 rushing yards on 29 carries, and two touchdowns.
McCoy broke Hall of Famer Steve Van Buren's single-game franchise rushing record that stood for 64 years. Van Buren recorded 205 on the ground against the Steelers in 1949.

Here's how he did it (GIFs via Bleacher Report):
Double teaming Suh and Fairley
On defense, Lions enforcers Nick Fairley and Ndamukong Suh made life miserable at first and the Eagles had -2 yards in the first quarter.
The Eagles started double teaming both of them giving McCoy space. Once he got past the defensive line, McCoy only needed to make one move to break free.
Here's his 40-yard touchdown:

Using the Lions defense's weaknesses
Instead of trying to go around the defense,
Chip Kelly attacked the weakness of the Lions front seven and went after defensive end Willie Young and linebacker Ashlee Palmer on the left side.
Kelly told Brad Wilson of the Express-Times:
"We learned that with the weather, it was very difficult to go lateral and we felt like we had to get a downhill game going".
Kelly's running-plays were strongly targeted towards the left. Here's what the play selection looked like for McCoy:
Left: 16 carries, 162 yards (two TDs)
Middle: 8 carries, 21 yards
Right: 5 carries. 34 yards
Here's another 57-yard touchdown run from McCoy:

The snow
There were more than 7 inches of snow on the field by the end of the game. While it looked like it was going to hamper McCoy's big-play ability early on, it became an advantage. After the snow stopped falling and McCoy could see where he was going, the snow became the Lions worst enemy. They couldn't get any traction to get to McCoy:
