Popular titles include "The Lion Guard", a spin-off of 1994 film "The Lion King", and fairytale series "Goldie & Bear".

8. AdeleVEVO: Brit singer says "hello" to 158 million requests

Views in May: 158 million

Total views: 4.5 billion

Subscribers: 12.4 million

The spike in Adele's YouTube channel in May can be attributed to the "Send My Love" video landing. Since going live, it has racked up 104 million requests.

Toys AndMe features the adventures of Nottingham-based vlogger Tiana as she unboxes toys and candy treats.

Tiana has quite the sweet tooth and in one of her most popular posts, she unboxes a giant Chuppa Chup lolly.

Subscribers: 5.1 million

SevenSuperGirls is a collaboration of seven teenage vloggers. Six of the seven girls are based in the US, while EmilyJade contributes from the UK.

The Super Girls started uploading videos in 2008, when they launched the channel with a video introducing themselves and their favourite things.

5. Britain's Got Talent: It's a "yes" to Simon Cowell's franchise

Views in May: 285 million

Total views: 4.3 billion

Subscribers: 6.2 million

Britain's Got Talent was on television in May and took full advantage of its platform on ITV to post a big month of views.

Acts that piqued the interest of YouTube users included a group of dancing Storm Troopers and Alex Magala, a sword swallowing mad man.

4. PewDiePie: Gamer shrugs off the haters

Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, known as PewDiePie, made headlines last year after earning $7.4 million and being trolled on Facebook. But the success of of his YouTube channel shows no signs of slowing.

British band Coldplay published "Up & Up" in May, the third single from their seventh album "A Head Full Of Dreams." It has since been viewed 52.4 million times.

Launched in 2011, LittleBabyBum is one of the biggest educational channels on YouTube and is primarily a home for animated nursery rhymes for children.

The channel is available in five languages and posts two videos a week, as well as a compilation.

LittleBabyBum is run by Derek Holder and his wife. He told The Guardian last year that he was surpised by the channel's success: “It’s been mindblowing. Staggering. We pinch ourselves every day,” Holder said.
