Holiday Inn Is Now Open For Business In New Delhi

Mar 18, 2014, 13:54 IST
If you were born in the 80’s or before, then you are familiar with the Holiday Inn brand of Hotels in Delhi. The famous ‘The Lalit’ hotel on Barakhmaba road was once known as Holiday Inn. The InterContinental chain (IHG), who owns the Holiday Inn brand, has now opened a new Holiday Inn in New Delhi. Work on the hotel began around the Commonwealth Games in 2010 and now the chain has opened it up for business. The new hotel is located near the Delhi International and domestic airports, strengthening the brands presence in the Indian Capital.

The hotel has 256 rooms that are now operational. The location is perfect for business travellers who would want to live near the airport.

Moreover, the hotel is not too far from the millennium city of Gurgaon. Pascal Gauvin, Chief Operating Officer, India, Middle East and Africa, IHG said: “We have a long heritage in India, with almost 50 years’ experience in the country and, throughout our time, we’ve adapted and evolved to meet the rapidly changing market. In the coming years, our Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels will drive much of our growth in the country and we’re excited about what the future holds for the two brands. We opened five hotels here in 2013 and this is our first opening of 2014, setting a great base for the year.”

Opening of another large hotel in the city is definitely a good sign. This will bring more capital in the form of taxes to New Delhi. There are more hotels coming up in the same locality, which will make this district special for travellers, especially the business ones.
