Hillary Clinton did a pretty decent Donald Trump impression on 'Saturday Night Live'

If Hillary Clinton was fazed by Saturday Night Live cast member Kate McKinnon's impression of her, she didn't show it.

Appearing on the show for the first time since 2008, Clinton played a bartender - "Val" - who consoles McKinnon's "Hillary Clinton."

Clinton played it straight as McKinnon made repeated references to Clinton's long evolution on politically touchy topics, including deliberations on key Democratic issues like supporting gay marriage and opposition to the Keystone XL Pipeline, both politically divisive issues that Clinton largely avoided addressing for years.

"I'm just an ordinary citizen who think that the Keystone Pipeline will destroy our environment," Clinton said.

"I agree with you there. It did take me a long time to decide that, but I am against it," McKinnon said.

Clinton also got a chance to display her comedic chops - midway through the sketch, the former secretary of state broke into a decent impression of current Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.

"Isn't he the one who's like, 'Ugh, you're all losers'?" Clinton said.

Clinton's appearance on SNL comes as the Democratic front-runner is trying to soften her image, making her seem more sympathetic and open to scrutiny. The New York Times reported that Clinton declined an invitation to give the keynote address at that annual dinner for the Human Rights Campaign, an LGBT advocacy organization, in order to appear in the SNL sketch.

Clinton even winked at this a bit in the sketch.

"This has been so nice. You're really easy to talk to, Val," McKinnon said.

"Oh, thanks. You know, that's the first time I've ever heard that," Clinton said, smiling.
