Here's what you need to know about Snapchat's new update that changes how you view your snaps
Snapchat rolled out a new update Wednesday that changes how you look at snaps when you receive them.
In the past, when you wanted to view a snap or a Snapchat Story, you had to press and hold down on the screen.
But now, Snapchat has unleashed Tap to View, a self-explanatory function that means all you have to do is press once to open a snap.
In addition, Snapchat will let you add friends based on geolocation. If you're hanging out with a group of people who you're not friends with on Snapchat, you can use Add Nearby to add a bunch of people around you quickly.
The update is available for both iOS and Android starting Wednesday.
One of Snapchat's best, little-known features is its QR code. If you drag down from the top on the Snapchat app, you'll be able to see yours. It looks like this:
With Snapchat's newest update, you'll be able to replace the iconic ghost logo on the QR code with a selfie, so people can identify you more easily.
And finally, Snapchat is introducing two-step authentication to bolster user security.
