Market economists predict only 149,000 workers were hired to nonfarm payrolls in February, up from 113,000 in January. As in January, forecasters believe the harsh winter weather that coincided with the report's survey period had a significant impact on the data.
Private payrolls are expected to have risen by 145,000 in February following a 142,000 gain in January.
The median estimate of market economists polled by Bloomberg is that the unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.6% in February, but many believe it ticked down to 6.5%.
