The tally of oil rigs could continue its upswing this week, with oil prices near $50 per barrel and demand for drilling equipment on the rise.
Last week, the oil rig count rose for an 8th straight period, by 11 to 443. The gas rig count increased by 3 to 108.
Although the oil rig count has been rising, US production is still down year-on-year, reflecting some continued caution and weakness among the largest producers.
