However, some economists are more bullish than others.
"Despite its admittedly spotty tracking record, ADP Employer Services' private job count for May likely will be the key event during today's session," wrote Societe Generale economists. "A marked pickup in small-business hiring last month, combined with the prospect for some catch-up after April's significant underestimation of the corresponding government series, prompted us to boost our forecast from 235K to 265K for today's report."
