Ford had showcased the
2014 edition of
Ford Fiesta (specially carved for markets like India) at the
Auto Expo earlier this year. Today they finally launched the new Fiesta with a diesel engine (available in 3 trims). The intent of the car is very chunky and modern. The front grille and design gives this sedan a very macho look.
The new Ford Fiesta has 1.5 L Duratorq diesel engine, which should give the car enough power to ride high on the Indian roads. The base version is available for Rs 7,69,000 (ambient diesel), the Trend diesel is available for Rs 8,55,720 and Titanium Diesel, which is the top variant can be picked up for Rs 9,29,449. Ford says the 2014 fiesta gives a mileage of over 25 KMPL and does seem to be one of the best in the class.
‘‘The Fiesta has a very special role in
Ford India’s product portfolio and is for the pure driving enthusiasts who are known for their distinct choices and opt for nothing but the best,’’ said, Nigel Harris, President, Ford India.
Ford Fiesta 2014 goes up against the likes of
Honda City and
Nissan Sunny. However, what should give this car the edge over the others is the tech within the car. Like the Ford Eco sport, Ford Fiesta too has
Microsoft SYNC with Ford Applink and Emergency Assistance. EA sends a wire out to emergency services if you are met with an accident, while driving this car.
Soon we will bring you the road test of the new Ford Fiesta 2014, so stay tuned.
