Economists predict total sales were flat in January after rising 0.2% from the previous month in December.
Excluding autos, sales are expected to have risen 0.1% in January after advancing 0.7% in December.
Excluding autos and gasoline, sales are expected to have risen 0.1% following a 0.6% advance in December.
The retail sales control group, a measure that feeds into the calculation of GDP, is expected to have risen 0.2% following a 0.7% advance the month before.
