Here Comes Obama's Statement On The Government Shutdown...

President Barack Obama will deliver a statement from the Rose Garden of the White House at 12:25 p.m. ET on Tuesday, the White House said.

Obama's statement will come following a meeting with Americans who the White House says will benefit from the opening of health-insurance marketplaces Tuesday under the Affordable Care Act.

It also comes on the first day of the first federal government shutdown in 17 years, because of disputes over funding for the health-care law.
