At 8:30 a.m. ET, we'll get the latest weekly tally of initial unemployment claims.

Economists are expecting claims to tick up to 330,000 from 326,000 a week ago.

"While the DOL stated that there were no special factors during the bitterly cold "Polar Vortex" week, we posit that the extreme weather kept some filers indoors," said Citi's Peter D'Antonio. "Consequently, we anticipate an above-consensus rise during the reference week as claimants took advantage of warmer temperatures."
