The latest reading on consumer prices and inflation will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET.
Economists estimate that the consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.3% month-on-month in May, according to Bloomberg. Compared to a year ago, they estimate that CPI gained 1.1%.
Core CPI, which excludes food and energy costs, is estimated at a 0.2% gain from April, and 2.2% from the prior year.
Last month, the headline change in consumer prices was lifted by a rise in energy costs; the gas index jumped 8.1%, the most for any item.
