We'll get the latest reading on how US consumers feel about the economy, and their outlook, at the top of the hour from the Conference Board.
Economists estimate that the monthly consumer confidence index was 96.5 for January, unchanged from the prior reading.
In a preview to clients, Barclays economists wrote "Despite the sharp declines in retail gas prices, jobless claims have moved higher and stock prices have fallen more than 5 percent year-to-date. These factors suggest a pullback in sentiment, but the preliminary reading of the University of Michigan survey suggests such a decline should not be severe."
