Here comes consumer confidence ...

The preliminary reading on consumer confidence in August is due out from the University of Michigan at the top of the hour.

Expectations are for the reading to rise to 91.5, up modestly from the reading of 90 seen at the end of July.

We'll be back with the numbers when they drop.
