The Obama administration will release much-anticipated statistics on October enrollments in health exchanges under the Affordable Care Act at 3:30 p.m. ET today.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will release the data on a conference call with reporters that will feature Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius.
The figures are not expected to be pretty. The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday that enrollment numbers in HealthCare.gov through the first week of November stood between 40,000 and 50,000.
It's far from the 500,000 sign-ups the Obama administration expected in the first month of November.
The official numbers come amid a disastrous rollout of the Affordable Care Act that has featured a dysfunctional HealthCare.gov website, which serves as the marketplace for 36 states. The White House has said that HealthCare.gov is fixable, and has said that it will be working "smoothly" by Nov. 30.
We'll be updating this post when the official numbers are released.
