Analysts are expecting claims to fall to 290,000, slightly down from 295,00 a week ago.
Last week, the 4-week average of initial claims was near a post-crisis low at 284,500. Additionally, the 4-week moving average of continuing claims fell slightly to 2,308,750, the lowest level since December 23, 2000.
"...the pace of hiring slowed substantially in March, but with the four-week moving average of initial jobless claims at a virtually 15-year low, we expect hiring to pick back up in the coming months," according to Wells Fargo's Sam Bullard.
