Here come initial jobless claims ...
Economists estimate that the number of first-time claims made for unemployment benefits totaled 275,000 last week, according to Bloomberg.
That would be a drop by 2,000 from the prior period.
"These figures are notoriously unreliable this time of year given ever-shifting weather patterns and the difficulty of properly adjusting for the winter holidays," wrote Deutsche Bank's Joe LaVorgna in a client preview. "Still, as long as claims on a trend basis remain comfortably below 300k, we can be reasonably confident that the labor market remains healthy."
