The Delhi High Court has lifted the eight month long ban in India’s capital. It has asked the state transport department to issue the company a fresh radio taxi license."I don't know if there should be a complete ban. I have doubts about it. How can you stall someone like this?” Justice Manmohan asked the Delhi government lawyer. "You can grant a conditional permission," he insisted.
The Court said the selective ban was unfair as it has lifted bans on Ola and taxi for Sure. It has granted 10 days to Delhi State Transport Department to set requirements for Uber to be granted a license.
Uber was banned in Delhi in December last year after an alleged rape by one of its drivers.
