Most major politicians don't dress up for Halloween.

President Barack Obama has never publicly dressed up since taking office, despite taking part in holiday festivities each year. Former President George W. Bush didn't, either.

But occasionally, the brave pol will step up and commit to a Halloween costume.

And when they do, it's usually quite a commitment.

Some leaders were more outgoing about their Halloween costumes than others. Former President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore went all out several years in a row for official holiday parties during their time in the White House.

Other leaders seem to enjoy being someone else enough to dress up twice in one year - like New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Here are some of the best pictures of politicians (and their staff) dressed up for Halloween.
