Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to give bureaucrats functional freedom to get target-oriented results.

Immediately after taking charge, Singh gave a presentation, lasting nearly four hours.

According to media reports, Singh is keen to understand the issues in detail and asked the babus several relevant questions.

The Ministry looks keen to focus on three issues – tackling illegal migration of Bangladeshis, a relook at UPA's Aadhaar Card scheme and ensuring the security of the North-eastern people residing across the country.

As per media reports, the minister was keen to know the status of illegal Bangladeshis living in the country, their numbers, modus-operandi of illegal migration and ways to tackle the issue.
