If you always thought that getting to study at Harvard University or Yale University is the toughest in the world, think again! If a news report by Bloomberg is to be believed, getting a job of analyst at Blackstone LP is way tougher than the two above mentioned universities.

This news was recently published in The Economic Times wherein it was mentioned that the New York based premier investment and advisory firm had received more than 15,000 applications for 100 analyst positions last week and the acceptance rate was less than 0.7% amongst the applications.

“It’s six times harder to get a job as an analyst at Blackstone than getting into Harvard, Yale or Stanford,” the 68-year-old billionaire told the Bloomberg.

Schwarzman himself being an alumnus of Yale University and Harvard Business School said, “We like to think that the companies that are similar to Blackstone include many of the great companies in the world.” He cited Apple Inc., Google Inc., Walt Disney Co. and Starbucks Corp to explain his statement.

Blackstone, with $310 billion in assets under management, is the world’s biggest alternative investment firm. With private equity, real estate, credit and hedge fund units, it’s one of the most sought-after companies for young investment bankers and business school graduates, according to Bloomberg.
