The long international nightmare is over. After months of speculation from fans and the media, "Game of Thrones" revealed Jon Snow's fate. And the actor who plays the character has a word for fans.

"Sorry!" Harington told Entertainment Weekly of the big reveal. "I'd like to say sorry for lying to everyone."

On Sunday's episode, Melisandre (Carice van Houten) was able to get her mojo back and cast the spell that brought life back into Jon Snow's body.

Harington and his cast mates were sworn to secrecy by show producers, and were asked to pretend that the actor was done with the show. The conspiracy went all the way to the top levels of HBO, as executives covered up the resurrection storyline, too.

It seems silly to look back now at the public melee of the whole ordeal and hear that Harington actually feared his character's death would go down without much of a response from fans. But that's how he felt.

"I'm glad that people were upset that he died," Harington confessed. "I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, 'Fine, Jon Snow's dead.' But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it. Which means something I'm doing - or the show is doing - is right."

Now that the truth of Jon Snow's fate is out, fans can expect way more from the character than ever before on the show's run.

"It's a massive season for Jon," Harington, who spent more days on-set this season than any of his cast mates, told EW. "It's his biggest season for him so far."
