Health content and queries platform, Modasta, has closed $1.5 million from HNIs based in Mauritius. Founded by former Yahoo executive Bikram Barman, his wife Dr Geethanjali Barman and Pankaj Pandey, the company provides access to quality health information through articles and videos. It covers a range of health-related content, curated by Indian doctors, across five regional languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam along with English.

LedGenius closes $10M from Lumia Capital and past investor Sierra Ventures

LedGenius, sales and marketing startup, today announced that it has closed $10 million in Series B round of financing led by Lumia Capital and past investor Sierra Ventures — Lumia’s Marin Gedalin is joining the company’s board of directors. The round also saw participation from Better Ventures, Bee Partners, Y Combinator, Kapor Capital, Initialized Capital, Fuel Capital, Scrum Ventures and Funders Club. Formerly known as MobileWorks, LeadGenius helps customers find likely sales leads and reach out to them with automated emails. The company says revenue increased 6x in the past 20 months, with customers including eBay, Box and Weebly.

FirstMark Capital Invests in genomics company ‘Phosphorus’
