Four ways vehicles can be stopped in a police pursuit
Car chases are often more dangerous for bystanders and officers then suspects. These four devices are designed to keep bystanders safe and give police or military personnel the advantage. The following is a transcript of the video.
Four ways vehicles can be stopped in a police pursuit.
Grappler Police Bumper. A wheel-locking net stops vehicles in seconds. The tether prevents the vehicle from driving away.
Nighthawk Spike Strips. It's a remote-activated spike strip. It prevents police from running in front of a speeding vehicle.
StarChase. StarChase is a grill-mounted GPS launcher. Once tagged, a car can be tracked.
ArrestNet. It deploys a high-strength net into the path of a vehicle. Barbed spikes penetrate the tire causing it to entangle the front wheels.
