4 Indians including Mukesh Ambani and Azim Premji amongst 62 people that own half of the world’s wealth

A few days back, we told you the startling fact that a mere 62 individuals own as much wealth as half of the rest of the world. In a latest turn of events, we now know that there are four Indian names among those affluent 62 people. These are Mukesh Ambani, Azim Premji, Dilip Shanghvi and Hinduja Brothers.

The report from Oxfam says that "in India, 46 percent of billionaires have made their fortunes from sectors that depend upon markpower, influence or preferential access to licensing". The report also drew comparisons between the payments received by CEOs and the average workforce in different countries, and found that in India, "The CEO of a top information technology firm makes 416 times the salary of a typical employee."
