<p>The Associated Press <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/02/01/ed-koch-three-term-mayor-who-became-symbol-nyc-dies-at-88/">has now confirmed the report</a>.</p>
<p>The Post report says the former mayor passed away at 2 AM. It has been known that Koch has been in and out of intensive care in recent weeks.</p>
<p><span>Koch served as mayor from 1978 to 1989.</span></p>
