The director of communications for the White House's Office of Public Liaison, Manigault's role has recently come under scrutiny in the media, with reports suggesting her position was vague and undefined.
In a statement, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that Manigault resigned on Tuesday "to pursue other opportunities" and that her official last day will be January 20.
"We wish her the best in future endeavors and are grateful for her service," Sanders said.
