Three Filmfares, five IIFAs, The Times of India's "Most Desirable Woman", Maxim (India)'s "Hot 100", FHM (India)'s "World's Sexiest Woman" and People (India)'s "Most Beautiful Woman", these are just some of the many awards that adorn the walls of Deepika Padukone’s house. Not only this, she has also received two “Indian of the Year” awards by two leading media houses in India, and yet, when she was spotted with World’s Number 1 Tennis star Novak Djokovic, foreign media had just one thing to say about her, Djokovic’s “female companion”!Yes, this happened for real. Deepika, who probably knows Djokovic personally, given that she is the daughter of celebrated Indian badminton player Prakash Padukone and has played an exhibition tennis doubles match with Djokovic in 2014's International Premier Tennis League tournament, was with him in a Los Angeles bar called The Nice Guy. It was then that DailyMail.Co.Uk decided to label her as his female companion, his impeccably turned-out friend, a leggy brunette, and a pretty lady.
However, even as they showered praises on her choice of dress and gave a detailed account of the coat and sandals that she was wearing, they forgot to mention one thing, that she is one of the most celebrated Indian actresses of her times, having delivered three hits just last year, viz Piku, Tamasha and Bajirao Mastani.
Well, let’s hope that once Deepika completes her ongoing project “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” opposite Vin Diesel, the foreign media gives her the identity that she has worked hard to achieve.

By the way, who all are waiting for her beau Ranveer Singh to give his two cents to the foreign publication? We know we are!
