Floyd Mayweather's dad has said he could "beat the s---" out of the former UFC champion Conor McGregor.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. beat McGregor in the 10th round of a boxing-rules bout in 2017, then retired forever. Two years on, Mayweather Sr., who is 66 years old, believes besting the Irishman would be easy work even for himself.
"I'd beat the s--- out of Conor," Mayweather Sr. told TMZ Sports on Sunday. "I'm double his age and I'll whoop his ass."
Mayweather Sr. and McGregor have history.
Before the Mayweather vs. McGregor bout was announced two years ago, Sr. said he'd beat the Irishman up.
"I told them people on the TV already, forget about Floyd," Mayweather Sr. said at the time, according to MMA Fighting. "Let's throw Floyd to the side. Here I am, I'm a 64-year-old man. I'll beat the s--- out of McGregor! Anytime he wants it, let's go."
The former two-weight UFC champion, who, at the time was a boxing debutant, tweeted confirmation of the fight the next month alongside a photograph of Sr. - a jab at the age of his opponent, Mayweather Jr.
At a press conference in July, one month before the crossover fight, McGregor said he couldn't tell which one was which, when looking at Mayweather Sr. and Jr.

Mayweather Sr. then interrupted the media event from the crowd, to announce to everybody that he'd "whoop" McGregor.
Mayweather Sr. was a formidable boxer in his day
Mayweather Jr. inherited his ring intelligence and defensive prowess from Mayweather Sr., who was a formidable opponent in his day - the mid-1970s through to 1990.
His most notable opponent was "Sugar" Ray Leonard, arguably one of the greatest boxers of all time.
Mayweather Sr. lost a 10th round knockout to Leonard in 1978.
