Flipkart is persuading online shoppers to pay through PhonePe

Flipkart wants its mobile payments business-PhonePe- to reach about 12 million users by December and has partnered with Yes Bank to launch a Unified Payments Interface (UPI)-based mobile payments app.

The online marketplace is encouraging online shoppers to pay digitally. PhonePe is now available on Google Play and its iOS version will be unveiled soon.

To encourage people, Flipkart and Myntra have already informed customers that their Flipkart Money wallet and Myntra cash-back will be stored on the PhonePe wallet.

Over a period of time, Flipkart will also convert cash-back or wallet in Jabong to PhonePe.

For starters, PhonePe will offer fund transfer, bill-splitting, mobile recharge and utility bill payment services.
