For this, Flipkart has invited leading technology companies including arch rival Amazon India, so that they can come up with their set of solutions.

Amazon is yet to confirm its participation.

Along with Amazon India, Flipkart has also invited CEOs of Microsoft, venture capital firm Accel, IT majors Wipro, Infosys and Cisco India and other such leading companies.

The start-up capital of India, Bengaluru has become synonymous with chaotic traffic because of rising populations including students and working professionals.

"As an innovative, tech company born in Bengaluru, Flipkart wants to help change that perception. At Flipkart, we're celebrating June as the month of innovation, part of our Big 10 celebrations, and we're inviting everyone to join hands to find innovative, implementable solutions to help fix some of Bengaluru's traffic woes. We're all, in many ways, as much a part of the problem as we must surely be of the solution," reads the mail sent out from Flipkart and accessed by ET.

Part of Gridlock Hackathon, participating companies cam submit their solutions before June 21, after which winners will be announced by a jury on July 1, entitled for a Flipkart voucher worth Rs 2 lakh.
