5. Timothy Dalton

5. Timothy Dalton

Timothy Dalton's Bond wore all the right clothes, from tuxedos to high-collared suits. But he didn't wear them convincingly.

He looked out of place in every suited-up scene, as if he much preferred combat gear. Dalton treated formal threads like a uniform he couldn't wait to take off.

4. Pierce Brosnan

4. Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan's Bond knew how to rock a suit. Unfortunately, they made him look more like an international mogul than a slightly unhinged British secret agent.

He was a bit more convincing in a tuxedo — but he still looked like an executive at a charity gala, rather than an undercover spy.

3. George Lazenby

3. George Lazenby

We're a little conflicted about George Lazenby's Bond.

His cream suit, pink shirt, and navy knit tie is pretty much peak Bond (dashing, stylish, and slightly daring), but the ruffled dinner shirt is something we cannot abide.

Sure, it's a product of the late '60s, when Lazenby's only Bond movie, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," came out, but in 2015, it is inexcusable.

2. Sean Connery

2. Sean Connery

The first Bond is also one of the best dressed. Both the three-piece gray suit and white dinner jacket are now trademarks of the ephemeral Bond — trademarks that only Connery, with his cocky portrayal of 007, could cement.

Playing the character with his now-signature arrogance and effortless cool, Connery made Bond's threads his own. The clothes didn't define him, but they certainly helped him set the bar impossibly high for all future Bonds.

His only weakness is the infamous terrycloth playsuit.

1. Daniel Craig

1. Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig's Bond is the modern answer to Connery's 007. He looks at ease in every ensemble he appears in, like a man who's supremely accustomed to this lifestyle.

The only edge he has on Connery is his modernity. Tom Ford has done Craig's Bond well. His snug suits are the perfect balance of modern tailoring and classic Bond style.

Further, no Bond has rocked a tux quite like Craig's Bond.
