Inside The Legendary Omaha Steakhouse That Warren Buffett Takes Over One Day Every Year
Inside The Legendary Omaha Steakhouse That Warren Buffett Takes Over One Day Every Year
Welcome to Gorat's, a tradition in Omaha for 69 years.
It's a big space, with 2 dining rooms, a bar, and space for live music. It seats 235 people.
The restaurant was started by Louis and Nellie Gorat, and is now run by their son, Louis Jr. aka "Pal."
Gorat's says that its menu continues the tradition of an Italian steakhouse.
They dress it up for the throngs headed to the shareholder meeting.
We noticed two appetizer menu items that you might not see at an NYC steakhouse. Steamed mushrooms, for one.
And some fried green beans, for another.
These waffle fries look solid though.
But let's be real, it's all about the main event.
Buffett's famous favorite cut, the T-bone. He eats it with a double order of has browns and a cherry coke.
BONUS: Buffett also loves the root beer float at another local steakhouse recommended to Berkshire shareholders, Piccolo Pete's.
