Damian Lewis opened the London Stock Exchange to promote Sky's hedge fund drama Billions
Lewis plays billionaire hedge fund kingpin Bobby ‘Axe’ Axelrod in Billions. He stars alongside Paul Giamatti, who plays US attorney Chuck Rhoades. Rhoades goes after the 'Axe' in the series.
The series was created by renowned New York Times columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin, the founder of the paper's Dealbook blog and author of 'Too Big To Fail', arguably the best book of the 2008 US financial crisis.
Ross Sorkin told Vanity Fair: "I definitely care about the authenticity. I want people who live in this world to see certain scenes and go, “Oh, yeah, that feels real.” And you want the language to be real. For instance, we intentionally chose not to duck away from or dumb down the language in which these people speak."
Zai Bennett, director of Sky Atlantic, calls the show "the ultimate Wall Street power battle" in a release announcing Lewis' stunt and the premier of Billions.
The show has proved a huge hit in the US, with an IMDB rating of 8.4 and rave reviews from critics.
The series premieres on Sky Atlantic tomorrow night at 9pm but Sky Boxset customers will also be able to stream the entire series from that time too.
