There are more than 40 days in 2021 when banks will remain shut, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Some holidays will vary in different states and will also depend on certain state-specific festivals.

Holidays declared by the central government apply to both public and private sector banks. Banks do not work on Sundays in addition to second and fourth Saturdays of all months.
