Since Gandhi Jayanti is a national holiday, banks across the nation will remain closed.ANI
If you are scheduling a lot of your bank-related errands for the next month, it's time to rethink and get it done at the earliest. That's because banks are set to remain closed for almost 15 days next month. This includes all Sundays (6,13, 20,27) and the second and fourth Saturdays (12, 26).

Here's a list of all , both nationwide and state-wise bank holidays you should know about so that you can plan well in advance.

October 1, Tuesday: Banks will remain closed in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, due to general elections in the state legislative assembly.

October 2, Wednesday: Gandhi Jayanti. Since it is a national holiday, banks across the nation will remain closed.

October 3, Thursday: The 9-day celebration of Navaratri begins. Banks will remain closed in Rajasthan.

October 10, Thursday: Durga Pooja (Maha Saptami)/Dussehra: Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Nagaland, Assam and West Bengal

October 12, Saturday: Navmi. Second Saturday. Banks closed across all states in the country

October 14, Monday: Dasain/Dussehra: Banks closed in Sikkim

October 16, Wednesday: Lakshmi Pooja. Banks will remain closed in Tripura and West Bengal

October 17, Thursday: Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti/Kati Bihu. Banks will remain closed in Karnataka, Assam and Himachal Pradesh.

  • October 26, Saturday: Fourth Saturday. Banks will remain closed nationwide. Also, on this day in 1947, Maharaja Hari Singh signed the Instrument of Accession, making Jammu and Kashmir a part of India. This is a public holiday in J&K, hence banks in the state will remain closed.
  • October 31, Thursday: Diwali (Deepavali)/Kali Puja/Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel/Naraka Chaturdashi- Banks are closed in most of the states, with the exception of Tripura, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya.
