Fawad Khan, Bollywood’s new Mr Chaalu

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, who rose to fame in India with his serial Zindagi Gulzar Hai, would now be seen in director Reema Kagti’s next venture-- Mr Chaalu.

Khan, who was last seen in Shashanka Ghosh’s Khoobsurat opposite Sonam Kapoor, has also been signed for Karan Johar’s Kapoor and Sons and Shashanka Ghosh’s Battle for Bittora.

While Kapoor and Sons would feature Fawad Khan, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt in a supposed love triangle, in Battle for Bittora Fawad would play the royal prince from Anuja Chauhan’s bestselling novel of the same name.

In Mr Chaalu, Fawad would be seen opposite Priyanka Chopra. Earlier, actor Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut were the original choices for the film. However, things didn’t work out for these two, owing to which Fawad Khan and Priyanka Chopra were approached later. The movie would be produced by under Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner Excel Entertainment.
