  • LeBron James passed Michael Jordan on the NBA all-time scoring list on Wednesday night.
  • Former teammates Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson roasted James on camera for his accomplishment, calling him a ball hog.
  • Despite a big game from James, the Lakers still lost to the Nuggets and remain a longshot to make the playoffs.

LeBron James reached another career milestone on Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets, passing Michael Jordan on the NBA all-time scoring list midway through the second quarter.

James finished the night with 31 points, bringing his career total to 32,311 to move into fourth place on the all-time list. Kobe Bryant is now the next name to fall, just 1,300 points ahead of LeBron, or about 50 games at his current pace.

It was an emotional night for James, who grew up idolizing Jordan and is destined to be compared to MJ in sports bars and barbershops for eternity.

But for ex-teammates Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson, the accomplishment was simply an opportunity to roast their superstar friend.

Frye and Jefferson, who both have championship rings thanks to James, were asked about their former teammates' latest accomplishment in the Cavaliers locker room after Cleveland's game against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

"It's shown his consistency of ball-hogging," said Frye, who announced his retirement from the league just a few days earlier. "He was a huge ball hog. Pass the ball!"

"He never passed the ball," Jefferson jokingly agreed. "Why don't you try and pass the all-time assist leaders? Why don't you try and pass John Stockton instead of trying to pass Kareem?"

James is currently 10th on the NBA's all-time assists list.

"Anyway, congratulations, you deserve it," Frye concluded. "You suck. You owe me a bottle of wine."

"It couldn't have happened to a better guy, except me or him," said Jefferson.
