Jan 7, 2013, 21:58 IST
Actor Brad Pitt joined social media site Weibo, China's Twitter equivalent, in the past 24 hours, and he's already causing freaking people out. The first tweet from the actor's verified account translates as "It is the truth. Yup, I'm coming."
Weibo screeencap
Since the message was posted Monday, it has been shared more than 50,000 times and has received more than 24,000 comments. Everyone is taking this to mean that the actor is heading to China, which normally wouldn't cause too much worry or concern; however, the actor is supposedly banned from the country. According to director Jean-Jacques Annaud and IMDB, both he and Pitt were banned from China because of their roles in "Seven Years In Tibet." The country was reportedly upset with the movie's portrayal of harsh Chinese rule. Since he joined Weibo, Pitt has amassed more than 150,000 followers. Pitt's not on Twitter.
