European markets are rising solidly after some positive industrial data early Wednesday.

Here's the scorecard:

France's CAC 40: +1.45%

Germany's DAX: +1.11%

UK's FTSE 100: +1.10%

Spain's IBEX: +1.02%

Italy's FTSE MIB: +1.06%

The Nikkei closed down in Tokyo, falling 0.90%, but Hong Kong's Hang Seng climbed 0.73% and the Shanghai Composite Index finished 1.66% higher.

US futures are mixed: the S&P 500 is down 1.25 points but the Dow is up 10 points.

This all comes after some solid industrial surveys earlier in Europe which showed a solid industrial recovery in the works during March - the eurozone's manufacturing PMI rose to 52.2, above expectations and the strongest in 10 months.

The US' manufacturing PMI from Markit is also out today, coming at 2:45 p.m. London time (9:45 a.m. NY time) - last month the reading reached 55.1.
